Polterguys Volume 1 Pages

So this week, I completed preliminary inks on Volume 1 pages.

One thing about working digitally, you just can’t quite get the same satisfaction of seeing your work in bulk like this. I admit, I work in a pretty hybrid approach where I do some preliminary inking on marker paper but do more digitally right after. For the most part, it’s been working for me but there’s definitely room for experimentation. It feels like a shortcut method and my originals are not much to look at. I want to get better at this!

I’ll finish toning by the end of this week and then, I’ll be worrying about pre-press soon. Is the hardest part almost over? I’m not sure. There’s still much more to be done.

But I also acknowledge and I AM little bit awed at the accomplishment, too. I’m genuinely happy with what I’ve done so far. This has been one of the craziest, most difficult project I’ve ever attempted in my life and certainly the most fulfilling. A more articulate post will follow when I actually have a minute to write down what I actually want to say.
